What Makes OnePay Wireless Possible: A Platform Built for Multi-Product Innovation

Share

In our first post on “The OnePay Platform Story," we laid out how a shared platform lets us ship new products faster and with less friction. This post shows that in practice with OnePay Wireless.

A mobile plan isn’t the first thing most people associate with financial wellness, but the connection is simple: predictable savings. OnePay Wireless offers an unlimited wireless plan for customers who want reliable service, low pricing, and the convenience of managing their phone plan in the same app they already use to save, spend, borrow, and grow their money.

However, what makes OnePay Wireless different isn’t just the price, it’s the platform and the partnership behind it.

Built on the OnePay Platform

The strength behind OnePay Wireless lies in the shared foundation that powers every OnePay product. Our multi-product platform lets us build and ship new offerings quickly, consistently, all while being deeply integrated across our systems. Everyone at OnePay wakes up thinking about what we can do to move faster, and the platform allows us to do exactly that.

Identity handles shared signup, authentication, and demographic data across all products. Existing OnePay Cash customers can quickly sign up for OnePay Wireless without re-entering information.

Risk systems validate customer information during onboarding, invoking step-up verification when abnormal activity is detected.

Events and Communications provide lifecycle awareness through push notifications, email, and in-app banners, reminding users to install eSIMs, complete payments, and discover additional products.

Data and Analytics are used to improve the customer’s wireless service by unifying event streams and storage in our warehouse, enabling our data team to analyze engagement, optimize the experience, and identify usability friction across the app.

Powered by a Forward-Looking Partnership

Our partnership with Gigs, our wireless provider, was essential to bringing OnePay Wireless to life and reflects a larger shift happening across telecom and financial services.

Gigs is the operating system for mobile services, and through its partnership with AT&T, it enables OnePay to embed connectivity directly into the apps customers already use every day.

With Gigs, connectivity becomes a cloud service, something developers can integrate in minutes, just like payments or messaging.

In a world where customers live inside apps, this model gives network providers a more sustainable path to reach potentially millions of new customers and gives OnePay a powerful lever for customer loyalty and everyday engagement.

Together, with Gigs, we’ve unlocked a future where connectivity, banking, and payments coexist in one seamless experience. For many customers, that will feel like a simpler, more intuitive way to manage their lives.

Outcome

With this shared platform, a small-but-mighty engineering team built and launched OnePay Wireless in just a few months, becoming one of the first fintechs in the U.S. to launch a mobile service.

As we introduce new features, we start by asking whether the work benefits other OnePay products. The answer is almost always yes. Each product strengthens the entire system and accelerates what comes next.

Wireless is just the beginning.
