What is OnePay Advance?#
OnePay Advance gives eligible customers who bank through OnePay quick access to extra cash when they need it. If you're eligible, you can request an Advance in just a few taps within the OnePay app. The requested amount is overdrafted from your Advance balance and instantly deposited into your Checking balance.
Who is eligible for OnePay Advance?#
OnePay Advance is in limited availability to select customers with Banking+ benefits who are 18 or older. Additionally, some OnePay customers who do not bank through OnePay may see an option to open one and link an external bank account and debit card to check whether they are eligible for a OnePay Advance. Not everyone will see this offer, and eligibility and Advance amounts are determined by OnePay.
Once you are eligible to request a OnePay Advance, you will see “Get $X instantly” in the OnePay app on the Home tab.
Are there any fees for using OnePay Advance?#
Each Advance has a simple OnePay Advance Overdraft fee of 5% of the Advance amount. There are no interest charges or late fees.
How much can I request with OnePay Advance?#
Advance limits range from $25 to $300, depending on your direct deposit history, account activity, and other factors. Advance limits can increase over time. To see your limit, look for “Get $X instantly” in the OnePay app on the Home tab to see your limit.
You can only have one Advance at a time—once it’s repaid, you may be eligible for another.
How can I increase my OnePay Advance limit?#
OnePay Advance limits are set automatically and cannot be increased upon request.
You may be eligible for higher Advance limits over time when you:
Receive OnePay Banking+ benefits for multiple months
Increase the amount you direct deposit into your OnePay deposit account
Spend using your OnePay debit card
Repay any OnePay Advances that you take promptly
How does OnePay Advance repayment work?#
Your Advance will be automatically repaid from deposits sent to your Checking balance. Repayment begins after midnight Pacific Time on the day the Advance was requested, and any funds added to the account before that time will not be applied toward repaying the Advance. Deposits that will be used to repay the Advance include:
Paychecks and Instapay deposits
Gig payments (like payments from Spark Driver or DoorDash)
Transfers to a OnePay deposit initiated from other banks or financial apps (including apps like Venmo or Cash app)
One to One transfers from other OnePay customers
You can also click here to view how your Direct Deposit is applied once it reaches your OnePay deposit account.
Deposits made using “Add Money” or “Deposit cash” option in Cash Control, OnePay points redemptions, or internal transfers from Savings will not be used for automatic repayment.
For Advances with a Linked Account Settlement Date, OnePay will attempt to collect any remaining Advance balance from the linked debit card on that date. If the Advance balance is not fully repaid, OnePay may continue attempting to collect the remaining balance from the same linked card until your Advance balance is $0. You can also make a manual repayment at any time in the OnePay app.
How can I view my OnePay Advance history?#
You can view Advance history within the OnePay App:
Go to Banking Settings in OnePay App
Select Savings Backup and Overdraft
Review previous Advance activities
You can still view your complete Advance activity, even if you are no longer eligible.
Can I repay my OnePay Advance manually?#
Yes, you can repay part or all of your Advance at any time from funds in your OnePay deposit account.
To repay manually:
Open the OnePay app
If needed, transfer funds to your Checking balance.
Tap Advance balance.
Select Repay Advance.
Enter the amount you want to repay.
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete your payment.
How does OnePay Advance work with Fee-Free Overdraft?#
Your OnePay Advance is separate from Fee-Free Overdraft, and you can use the two together.
Deposits to your Checking balance apply to your Advance first, then to your Fee-Free Overdraft (if you are eligible for Fee-Free Overdraft).
If you have a negative balance in Checking and you take an Advance, your Advance will be used to pay the negative amount.
Can I increase the amount of my OnePay Advance after requesting it?#
No. Once you request an Advance, the amount can’t be changed. Once it’s repaid, you may be eligible for another.
Do customers with Banking+ benefits get higher OnePay Advance limits?#
Customers with Banking+ benefits may have access to higher Advance limits.
Eligible customers may qualify for an Advance starting at $25, which could increase over time. Customers with Banking+ benefits may be able to access up to $400 with OnePay Advance.
Not all customers qualify for the maximum amount, and limits may change based on factors such as account history and Banking+ status.
When you request an Advance, a 5% fee applies and the amount is due right away. See the Advance terms in your app for full details.
