What is Builder Card?#
The OnePay Builder Card is a secured Mastercard® credit card connected to your OnePay Cash account. The amount you can spend is generally tied to your Spend available balance. You can swipe or tap as usual, anywhere Mastercard® credit is accepted.
There is no credit check to switch to the Builder Card, no monthly fees, and no security deposit required.
How does Builder Card work?#
Builder Card helps you build your credit1 without any interest or monthly fees. Here’s how it works:
If you choose Builder Card, your Spend balance will generally be the amount you can use for Builder Card purchases. If you are eligible for fee-free Overdraft Protection, Cash Advance, or use Savings Backup, you will still have access to these features.
When you make a purchase with your Builder Card, the amount of the purchase is moved from your Spend balance to your Builder Card Lockbox subaccount, and those funds are no longer available to spend.
You can turn on autopayments which use the funds in your Builder Card Lockbox subaccount to automatically pay off your Builder Card balance, which can support positive payment activity. If you opt out of auto pay, you can pay your balance manually each month using your lockbox funds or via an external account.
Unless you opt out, OnePay reports your Builder Card payment history to TransUnion®, Experian®, and Equifax®. Timely payments may help build credit, but credit score improvement is not guaranteed and depends on your overall financial behavior.2
Builder Card customers will receive a virtual debit card with a different number for virtual payments like Apple Pay, peer-to-peer payments, or places where Mastercard® credit may not be accepted. Transactions you make with your virtual debit card will not count towards your Builder Card activity reported to the credit bureaus.
